The drive from DXB to JLT

JLT is near the far end of the city from the airport. The chauffeur takes Sheikh Zayed Road or Al Khail Road southwest; JLT sits on the inland side of Sheikh Zayed Road, so unlike the Marina there is no need to cross to the coast. At quiet times the drive is about half an hour. In the weekday evening rush, with the whole southwest of the city heading home, it can stretch to fifty minutes or more.

The route passes Salik gates on Sheikh Zayed Road, charged at cost and shown on your receipt.

Clusters, towers and lakes

JLT's towers are grouped in lettered clusters, three or so towers to a cluster, around a ring of roads and lakes. Several buildings have similar names, and a few share a podium and car park. Choose the tower from the address search, or drop a pin on its lobby, and add the cluster letter in the notes if you know it. That is the difference between pulling up at your door and circling the lakes.

Almas Tower, the DMCC headquarters, stands at the centre. Hotels include Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers, and the restaurants around the lakes are a short walk from most clusters.

Flying out from JLT

Getting out of JLT onto Sheikh Zayed Road towards the airport is quick outside the morning rush. For a morning flight, the eastbound commute is heavy all the way to the airport, so book well ahead of check-in and add your flight number to the booking.

Help

DXB to Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT): your questions

How long does the transfer take from DXB to Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT)?
About 40 kilometres, usually 30 to 55 minutes depending on traffic and the time you land.
Is JLT the same as Dubai Marina?
No. JLT is on the inland side of Sheikh Zayed Road, the Marina is on the coastal side. They face each other across the motorway, and a footbridge or two links them, but the car routes are different.
I am visiting a DMCC company. Where should I be dropped?
Give the company's tower as your drop-off. Many free-zone offices are in the residential-looking towers, so the tower name matters more than the free zone name.
How long is the transfer at night?
Late at night, with clear roads, JLT is usually around thirty minutes from the terminals.
Which is quicker from DXB, JLT or the Marina?
JLT is usually a few minutes quicker, because the car stays on the inland side of Sheikh Zayed Road instead of looping through the Marina's streets to the coast.
Where will my driver meet me at Dubai International Airport?
Without Meet & Greet: the parking the airport designates for pre-booked cars, marked across the airport; it can move, so follow the markings. With Meet & Greet: inside the arrivals hall, with a name board.
