What a limousine service is in the UAE

In the UAE, a limousine usually means an executive car with a professional chauffeur, not only a stretched car. In Dubai, carrying passengers in luxury vehicles is its own licensed activity: the Roads and Transport Authority’s Public Transport Agency issues the permit, and each company works under an agreement that sets which categories of vehicle it may run, how many, and how long a car may stay in service. The other emirates have their own transport authorities and permits.

drivoo owns no cars. It is a technology platform, operated by TechSphere Solutions Limited, that brings licensed limousine companies together in one booking. The fleets hold their RTA and emirate permits, drivoo checks each fleet’s permits and each chauffeur’s documents before dispatch, and every chauffeur completes the mandatory RTA safety training.

Airport limousine

An arrival is the most common limousine booking. Your chauffeur follows your flight, times the pickup from its arrival and helps with your bags, with free waiting time after landing. Add Meet & Greet when you book, where it is offered, and your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board, opens the door and helps with your luggage and any baby seat.

We serve Dubai International (DXB), Al Maktoum International (DWC), Zayed International in Abu Dhabi (AUH), Sharjah International (SHJ) and Ras Al Khaimah International (RKT), to any address in the seven emirates.

Frequently asked questions

Is a limousine the same as a chauffeur service?

In the UAE the two words are used for the same thing: an executive car with a professional chauffeur, from a licensed limousine company. Every drivoo ride is one.

Do you have stretch limousines?

No. drivoo books three classes of executive car: drivoo Go, drivoo Black and drivoo Van. A stretch limousine is not one of them.

Can I choose the make and model?

You book a class rather than a model. Cars differ within a class, and the booking shows what the car offered holds.

How much does a limousine cost?

It depends on the route, the class and the time. You see one fixed fare before you book, with tolls and parking passed through at cost.

Can I book a limousine by the hour?

Yes. Book hourly and the chauffeur and car stay with you between stops. Hourly hire has a minimum of 4 hours.

Are your limousines licensed?

Every car and chauffeur comes from a limousine company that holds its RTA and emirate permits, and drivoo checks the fleet’s permits and the chauffeur’s documents before each ride is dispatched.
