The short answer
Dubai's biggest crowds gather at Dubai World Trade Centre, Coca-Cola Arena, Expo City Dubai and Dubai Opera. Roads around them close or slow on event days, so leave early, and book your ride home before you go rather than looking for a car when everyone leaves at once.
Dubai’s busiest event venues
Dubai’s calendar is full of exhibitions, concerts, shows and celebrations, and a handful of venues host the biggest crowds. Dubai World Trade Centre, on Sheikh Zayed Road, holds major trade shows and conferences. Coca-Cola Arena, in City Walk, stages concerts and shows. Expo City Dubai, in Dubai South, is home to the Dubai Exhibition Centre and its own events. Dubai Opera, in Downtown Dubai, presents shows and concerts. What they share is that thousands of people arrive and leave at about the same time, on roads that are busy already. A chauffeur booked ahead takes most of the strain out of that, as long as your plan follows what each venue and the authorities publish.
Dubai World Trade Centre
Dubai World Trade Centre has direct access from Sheikh Zayed Road, the city’s main highway, and its own visitor guidance mentions several drop-off points around the venue and car parks across the site. The centre says it works with the transport authority to manage road traffic on major event days. Halls and entrances differ from one show to the next, so look at your event’s own visitor or transport page and give your chauffeur the hall or gate it names: choose it from the address suggestions when you book, drop a pin on it, or add it to the note. Some of the largest shows now spread beyond the Sheikh Zayed Road site. Gulfood 2026 ran across Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai at the same time, so make sure your badge and your booking name the same venue.
Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk
Coca-Cola Arena is in City Walk and, the arena says, can be reached from both Financial Centre Road and Sheikh Zayed Road. It holds up to 17,000 people, and the arena itself warns that you should expect a lot of traffic if you come to a show by car. For anyone being dropped off, its visitor page describes a dedicated drop-off zone directly in front of the main entrances. Arriving is the easy half. When a show ends, thousands of people leave together and the streets around City Walk fill quickly. Your chauffeur follows the arena’s and the police’s directions on where cars may wait and stop that night, so keep your phone on, follow the car with the link in your booking message, and let your chauffeur reach you if the plan changes.
Expo City Dubai and the Dubai Exhibition Centre
Expo City Dubai, the former Expo 2020 site in Dubai South, sits on Expo Road (E77), which links to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street (D54). Expo City asks drivers to follow the signs to the nearest car park on arrival. The site is large, with many entrances: Al Wasl Plaza and the pavilions each have their own drop-off points, and for a big show at the Dubai Exhibition Centre the right gate saves a long walk, so choose the hall or gate your event names from the address suggestions or drop a pin on it. On big event days, the roads around Expo City are busy when sessions end. Flying in? It is a short drive from Al Maktoum International, usually 20 to 35 minutes, and a long one from Dubai International, usually 45 to 75 minutes: see Al Maktoum Airport to Expo City Dubai and Dubai Airport to Expo City Dubai.
Dubai Opera and evenings in Downtown
Dubai Opera stands on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. Its directions page asks guests to plan the journey in advance because of the heavy traffic expected in the Downtown area, and it places taxi and private car drop-off and pick-up at Dubai Opera Plaza. An evening at the opera often goes with dinner nearby, so many people book a chauffeur by the hour: the car takes you to dinner and waits, then on to the show and home. Downtown is also one of the shortest drives from the airport, usually 15 to 35 minutes from DXB, if you are landing on the day of the show: see Dubai Airport to Downtown Dubai.
Road closures and timing
Big occasions bring planned road closures, announced ahead by the authorities, for example through the Dubai Media Office. For the New Year 2026 celebrations on 31 December 2025, for example, Dubai’s Event Security Committee announced closures around the event areas from 4 pm, widening until 11 pm, on roads including Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street, Financial Centre Road and Sheikh Zayed Road: the roads around Dubai Opera and on the way to Coca-Cola Arena. On a night like that, you may be dropped off earlier, or further from the door. Check the announcements a day or two ahead and set your times with the closures in mind; on the day, your chauffeur follows the police’s directions and diversions. Salik may set its own toll timings for major events, announced closer to the dates. Whatever the gates charge, drivoo passes Salik and Darb tolls through at cost, itemised on your receipt. If your event falls in Ramadan, see our guide to Ramadan and Eid travel timing.
Book the ride home before you go
Leaving is harder than arriving, because everyone goes at once, and the end of a concert is one of the hardest moments to find a car. So book the ride home when you book the ride there. Set the pickup for a little after the event is due to end, not the exact finishing time, so you are not waiting while the crowd clears. On the night, your chauffeur follows the venue’s and the police’s directions on where cars may wait and stop. Keep your phone on and charged, so you can follow the car with the link in your booking message and your chauffeur can reach you. If you don’t know when you will come out, or want the car to wait through dinner and the show, book a chauffeur by the hour in Dubai, who stays with you for the hours booked, waiting at each stop. Hourly hire has a minimum number of hours, shown when you book, and is billed on the hours booked or used, whichever is more.
Groups, families and company teams
Going together is simpler than finding each other after the show. Enter every passenger and bag when you book: the booking offers only the classes with a car that fits, and drivoo Van takes a larger group when one fits. Children under four need a child seat, so add one for each young child when you book; our guide to child seats in UAE cars explains the rules. Exhibitors and companies sending a team to a show at Dubai World Trade Centre or Expo City Dubai can keep a chauffeur by the hour for the day, or open a corporate account with monthly invoicing. For formal evenings, such as a gala dinner or a wedding, see our limousine service. Every ride is run by a licensed limousine company and its licensed chauffeur, and drivoo checks the chauffeur’s documents before they take a ride.
A checklist for event days
Check the event’s official page for its dates, door times and access guidance, and the authorities’ announcements for road closures. Book both rides early, there and back, because cars are in demand on the biggest nights, and cancellation is free up to a set time before pickup, shown when you book. Choose the venue, hall or gate from the address suggestions, or drop a pin, and put anything else your chauffeur should know in the note. Set the ride home for a little after the expected finish. Keep your phone charged. Each ride has one fixed fare, shown before you confirm.
