Sharjah International Airport to Dubai Marina
Dubai Marina lies at the far south-western end of Dubai from Sharjah International, about sixty kilometres away, so this is among the longest transfers from SHJ into the city.

Across the whole of Dubai
After crossing the border, the chauffeur usually runs south-west on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), which has no Salik gates, for most of the trip, then cuts across to Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) for the final stretch into the Marina. Al Khail Road is the usual alternative when the motorway is slow. Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road both have Salik gates; any crossing is passed through at cost and listed on your receipt.
Late at night, with clear roads, the drive is about fifty minutes. On a weekday morning it can be an hour and a half, as the car travels with the commuter flow out of Sharjah and then across the busy middle of the city.

Arriving at the Marina
The towers of the Marina wrap around a canal roughly three kilometres long, with hotels such as Grosvenor House and InterContinental Dubai Marina among the residential buildings. Many towers share a podium or a service road, so choose your building in the address search, or pin the entrance, and the car pulls up at that lobby.
Marina Walk follows the water, Dubai Marina Mall stands at the northern end near the Palm junction, and the JBR beachfront is a short walk from most towers. On Friday and weekend evenings the streets around the Marina and JBR are crowded, and the final few minutes to your tower can be slow.

Which airport suits a Marina stay
Of the three airports around Dubai, SHJ is the furthest from the Marina: Dubai International is usually thirty minutes to an hour away, and Al Maktoum International often a little less. If your airline flies into Sharjah, the transfer works just as well; it is simply the longest. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, the free waiting time counts from the actual landing, and with Meet & Greet, an add-on where offered, they wait in the arrivals hall with a name board.
Returning to SHJ
The return is the same long crossing in reverse, and the evening, when traffic towards Sharjah is heaviest, is the worst time for it. Sharjah Airport asks passengers to arrive three hours before departure, so for an evening flight book a pickup with a wide margin and add your flight number, and the booking will warn you if the time you chose is too tight.
