Al Maktoum International Airport to Palm Jumeirah

From Al Maktoum International, Palm Jumeirah is a straight run up Sheikh Zayed Road to the island's own interchange, then along the trunk to the fronds or through the tunnel to the crescent resorts.

Up the coast to the Palm

The chauffeur joins Sheikh Zayed Road from Dubai South, passes Jebel Ali and the Marina, and turns onto the Palm at its interchange. Trunk addresses come first; the crescent, home to Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal, is at the far end through the undersea tunnel. Most crescent arrivals take thirty-five to fifty-five minutes, depending on the evening traffic past the Marina.

Resort arrivals

Many visitors arriving at DWC on holiday flights are heading for a Palm resort, and the resorts each have their own entrance and porte cochère. Choose the resort by name, such as One&Only The Palm, Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah or Fairmont The Palm, and the chauffeur drives up to its door. For a frond villa, a pin on the gate is the surest drop-off.

Checking out for a DWC flight

Leaving the Palm, allow for the trunk and tunnel before Sheikh Zayed Road; the run south to DWC is then usually against the main traffic flow. Add your departure flight number to the booking so it can warn you if the pickup is too late for check-in.

Families heading to Atlantis

Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal stand side by side on the crescent with the Aquaventure waterpark between them, and many families flying into DWC are bound for one of the two. With children, ask for a baby seat when you book, enter every bag and buggy, and the class you are offered will be a car that takes the whole party. Meet & Greet adds help with the bags and the seat at arrivals.

Help

DWC to Palm Jumeirah: your questions

How long does the transfer take from DWC to Palm Jumeirah?
About 30 kilometres, usually 35 to 55 minutes depending on traffic and the time you land.
Is DWC or DXB better for a Palm Jumeirah hotel?
By road they are similar, around 35 to 45 kilometres each, but the DWC route avoids central Dubai. Book from whichever airport your flight uses.
Can the chauffeur wait while I check in and then take us to another hotel?
An airport transfer ends at the drop-off. For a car that stays with you, book hourly hire after you arrive.
Do I pay a toll for the Palm?
There is no toll on the Palm itself. A Salik gate on Sheikh Zayed Road may be passed on the way, at cost on your receipt.
How long is it from DWC to a residence on the Palm's trunk?
Usually thirty to forty-five minutes. The trunk comes before the tunnel to the crescent, so it is a little quicker than the resorts.
Where will my driver meet me at Al Maktoum International Airport?
Without Meet & Greet: the parking the airport designates for pre-booked cars, marked across the airport; it can move, so follow the markings. With Meet & Greet: inside the arrivals hall, with a name board.
