Along the motorway past Yas

The chauffeur takes Sheikh Khalifa Highway, the E12, past Yas Island and on to Saadiyat, approaching from the east without crossing onto the main island. Expect twenty to thirty-five minutes, depending on whether you are heading to the cultural district or the beach resorts on the far shore.

This route crosses no Darb gate. The Sheikh Khalifa Bridge toll applies only if you carry on from Saadiyat into the city.

Museums and beaches

The cultural district holds the Louvre Abu Dhabi, open since 2017, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi and the Zayed National Museum, with the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi due to open in December 2026. Along Saadiyat Beach, resorts such as The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi and Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island each have their own entrance road. NYU Abu Dhabi's campus is on the island too.

Choose the museum, resort or villa in the address search; the island's roads are wide but the resort entrances are spread out.

Leaving Saadiyat for the airport

Going back to AUH, the motorway past Yas is usually free-flowing, so the drive is predictable. Add your flight number to the drop-off booking so it can warn you if the pickup is too late for check-in.

A museum day with a chauffeur

The museums of the cultural district sit close together, but their entrances are spread along wide roads, and summer heat makes walking between them hard work. If you plan to see several in a day, hourly hire keeps a car and chauffeur on call between visits; for a single museum, a transfer from your hotel is enough.
