The drive south
The chauffeur takes Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the E311, south through Umm Al Quwain and past Ajman, then turns west into the city towards your address. For the northern districts near the Ajman border, the coast road through Ajman is the alternative. The open stretch out of Ras Al Khaimah is rarely what slows the trip; Sharjah's own streets are, especially at the morning and evening peaks, which is why the range of times is wide.

Which part of Sharjah
The city stretches along the coast from the Ajman border to Dubai. Around Khalid Lagoon lie Al Majaz, with its waterfront and musical fountain, and Al Qasba, where the Eye of the Emirates wheel turns above a canal lined with restaurants. The Heart of Sharjah heritage area and the Sharjah Art Museum are by the old creek, while Al Khan and Al Taawun, on the Dubai side, are the farthest from RKT.
Al Nahda is the name of a district in Sharjah and of another in Dubai, and other names repeat too, so search for the hotel or building itself rather than the district.
No tolls on this route
No emirate on this drive charges a car a toll, not Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain or Ajman, and not Sharjah either (Ras Al Khaimah’s Aber gates are for trucks and heavy vehicles only), and the trip never reaches Dubai, where Salik is charged, so there is nothing to add for the road. The cross-emirate surcharge for finishing in another emirate is built into the one fixed fare that you see before you book.

Landing at RKT for Sharjah
If your ticket says SHJ, book from Sharjah International instead: it is much closer to the city. RKT suits travellers whose flight lands there, and a pre-booked car is worth having at a small airport, where a full flight can outnumber the taxis on the rank. The chauffeur tracks the flight and the free waiting time starts at the actual landing; with Meet & Greet they are inside the arrivals hall with a name board, and otherwise at the parking the airport keeps for pre-booked cars.
A day in the city and the flight home
Book hourly hire for a day of the museums and the heritage area in the morning and Al Majaz or Al Qasba in the evening, and one chauffeur stays with you, waiting between stops. For the flight back from RKT, book an airport drop-off from your Sharjah address with your departure flight number. Allow for the city traffic on the way out; the booking flags a pickup time that leaves too little margin for check-in.
