Ras Al Khaimah International Airport to Ajman

Ajman lies about 65 kilometres south of Ras Al Khaimah International, a straightforward motorway drive past Umm Al Quwain, usually forty-five minutes to an hour and ten, to the corniche, Al Zorah or a home.

South past Umm Al Quwain

From the terminal, the chauffeur heads south on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the E311, which runs inland through Umm Al Quwain and comes into Ajman from the east. For an address on the seafront, the coast road through Umm Al Quwain is the other option. Traffic on the northern stretch is usually light at any hour, so the time depends mostly on Ajman's own streets, which are at their busiest in the morning and evening peaks.

The corniche, Al Zorah and the districts

Hotels on the Ajman corniche, Fairmont Ajman and Ajman Saray among them, look over the public beach. At Al Zorah, on the emirate's northern edge, a marina, a golf course and the mangrove reserve sit beside The Oberoi Beach Resort. Residents live mainly in districts such as Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and Al Jurf, and business trips often end at the free zone or the port.

The corniche road is long and many towers look alike from the street, so choose the exact hotel, building or villa in the address search and the chauffeur drives to its door.

No tolls, one fixed fare

A car pays no toll anywhere on this drive: Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman charge cars none (Ras Al Khaimah’s Aber gates are for trucks and heavy vehicles only), and the route never enters Dubai, so Salik does not come into it. The trip does end in a different emirate from the one you land in, and the cross-emirate surcharge for that is already inside the single fixed fare that you see before you book.

Why land at RKT for Ajman

Sharjah International is the nearer airport for most of Ajman, but RKT can be the better choice when its flights suit you, on Air Arabia, which has a base there, or on the IndiGo and Air India Express services from India. Your chauffeur follows the flight, and the free waiting time is counted from the moment it actually lands. The meeting point is the parking the airport sets aside for pre-booked cars, or, if you add Meet & Greet, the arrivals hall itself, where the chauffeur holds up your name.

Days out and the flight home

For a day with several stops, say the beach, the Ajman Museum in the old fort and lunch at Al Zorah, hourly hire keeps the same car and chauffeur with you from start to finish. When it is time to fly out, book an airport drop-off from your Ajman address and add your departure flight number; if the pickup you choose is too late for check-in at RKT, the booking tells you.

Help

RKT to Ajman: your questions

How long does the transfer take from RKT to Ajman?
About 65 kilometres, usually 45 to 70 minutes depending on traffic and the time you land.
How far is Ajman from Ras Al Khaimah Airport?
About 65 kilometres to the centre of Ajman, usually forty-five to seventy minutes by car, depending on the time of day and where in the emirate you are going.
Will I pay any tolls between RKT and Ajman?
No. None of the three emirates on the way charges a car a toll (Ras Al Khaimah’s Aber gates are for trucks and heavy vehicles only), and Salik is charged only inside Dubai, which this route does not enter.
Is the cross-emirate surcharge added at the end?
No. It is part of the fixed fare shown before you book, so the amount you confirm already covers the move from one emirate to another.
Can we stop in Umm Al Quwain on the way?
Yes. Add the stop when you book, so it becomes part of the route and the fare; a stop that was never booked changes the route, so plan it in advance.
Can a family with plenty of luggage travel in one car?
Enter every passenger and bag when you book; drivoo Go, drivoo Black and drivoo Van appear only when one of their cars fits the whole group. A baby seat can be requested as an extra.
Where will my driver meet me at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport?
Without Meet & Greet: the parking the airport designates for pre-booked cars, marked across the airport; it can move, so follow the markings. With Meet & Greet: inside the arrivals hall, with a name board.
